Education to Every Child

The quest to educate the African child has a long history. In 2012, the United Nations set development goals for the year 2015, one of the goals was “to ensure that by 2015, children everywhere, boys and girls alike will be able to complete a full course of primary schooling.” According to UNESCO, by this time, only 57% of African children were enrolled in primary schools, the lowest enrollment rate of any regions surveyed. In sub-Saharan Africa as of 2013, only about 79% of primary school-age children were enrolled in school. This implies that 59 million African children of primary-school age were out of school.
In 2015, following the expiration of the MDGs, UN adopted a set of Sustainable Development Goals for the year 2030. The fourth goal tackled education, with the stated aim to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.” Regarding issues of quality in education and equity, there are underlying causes that deter progress such as high drop-out rates, grade repetition, poor quality of education and educational resources, teacher shortages, poor infrastructure and supplies, access to education for rural and remote areas, and stigmas for marginalized groups.
Zidora Aid Foundation (ZAFAFRICA) seeks to partner with the United Nation to achieve the goal to ensure African children everywhere; boys and girls alike will be able to complete a full course of primary and secondary education as well as ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Zidora Aid Foundation share in the belief that “Education is probably the single most influential tool to ensure that poor countries have the resources to pull themselves out of poverty” . ZAF AFRICA relies greatly on your donations to ensure that inclusive and qualitative education is provided for the African child.
